THE GRAVITY MANAGER DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM
PLAIN-LANGUAGE FILE GUIDE
Release 1.2 | August 21, 2026

Purpose
This package develops restaurant managers through role clarity, observed practice, coaching, evidence, support, verified readiness, team leadership, shift-to-shift continuity, and bench renewal. GRV-M contains thirty coded operating tools. The Daily Manager Log is an uncoded support tool because it supports communication continuity rather than creating another manager-development control code.

QUICK DECISION GUIDE

KEEP AND USE
1. The_Gravity_Manager_Development_System_Manual_v1.2.docx / .pdf
What it is: Editable master plus fixed-layout operating manual.
Use it for: Approved wording changes, leadership review, manager onboarding, role assignments, installation, and controlled distribution.
Key upgrade: Defines Shift Leader, Manager on Duty, Assistant GM, and General Manager learning paths; clarifies Daily Manager Log boundaries; and uses the locked 30-Day Accelerated / 60-Day Guided installation architecture.

2. The_Gravity_Manager_Development_System_Forms_v1.2.docx / .pdf
What it is: Editable and print-ready library for GRV-M01 through GRV-M30.
Use it for: Role charters, readiness, learning/ramp plans, coaching, meetings, handoffs, capability review, succession, and renewal.
Key upgrade: GRV-M03 is now the Role-Based Manager Learning & Ramp Plan. It captures role level, foundation, shift control, people/guest leadership, business/system control, representative practice, knowledge check, independent verification, authority decision, evidence, support, and next review.

3. The_Gravity_Manager_Development_System_Digital_Control_Workbook_v1.2.xlsx
What it is: The live operating control workbook with 30 sheets, 24 operating registers, dashboard metrics, charts, data validation, action tracking, and 20 control checks.
Use it for: Role charters, readiness assessments, role-based ramp planning, development goals, coaching, feedback, delegation, climate, bench strength, manager actions, weekly review, and the Daily Manager Log register.
Important: Enter approved data in intended input cells. Do not type over formulas or change controlled definitions without version review.
Compatibility note: The worksheet tab historically named "90 Day Ramp" now operates as the official GRV-M03 Role-Based Manager Learning & Ramp Plan. The visible worksheet content controls this release.

4. The_Gravity_Manager_Development_System_Digital_Control_Workbook_v1.2.pdf
What it is: Fixed print/share reference showing the most important workbook views.
Use it for: Leadership review, implementation discussion, printing, and understanding the workbook before editing the XLSX.

5. How_to_Use_The_Gravity_Manager_Development_System_v1.2.pptx / .pdf
What it is: Twenty-slide manager/operator presentation.
Use it for: Leadership alignment, manager onboarding, facilitator-led installation, and refresher training.
Key upgrade: Shows the four role-development levels, updated workbook counts, and current 30/60 installation language.

6. Gravity_Daily_Manager_Log_SUPPORT_v1.2.docx / .pdf
What it is: One-page uncoded support form for shift-to-shift manager knowledge continuity.
Use it when: Managers need a simple record of what happened, what the next manager needs to know, what remains open, who owns it, and anything positive worth carrying forward.
Simple rule: Every manager reads the previous entry when starting a shift and adds one short useful entry before leaving.
Boundary: It does not replace GRV-M22 Pre-Shift Leadership Brief, GRV-M25 Cross-Functional Handoff & Alignment Plan, or the system record that owns a detailed issue.

7. Gravity_Manager_Development_System_File_Guide_v1.2.txt
   What it is: This file.
Use it for: Fast download decisions, package handoff, cleanup, and version control.

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM WORKING SET
- Manual PDF
- Forms PDF
- Digital Control Workbook XLSX
- Manager Training PDF or PPTX
- Daily Manager Log support form when shift-to-shift continuity is needed

FIRST INSTALLATION MOVE
Choose one real manager-development pressure and one accountable owner. Start with only 3-5 tools. In most restaurants, begin with GRV-M01 Manager Role & Decision Rights Charter, GRV-M02 Manager Readiness & Evidence Assessment, and GRV-M05 Manager Development Agreement & Goals. Add GRV-M03 when a manager is being ramped into a defined responsibility level. Run GRV-M26 Weekly Manager Development Review and clear the first workbook installation checks.

30-DAY ACCELERATED
Days 1-5 measure and define -> Days 6-10 train and pilot -> Days 11-20 execute and coach -> Days 21-27 stress-test -> Days 28-30 verify and decide.

60-DAY GUIDED
Days 1-10 learn and measure -> Days 11-20 define and prepare -> Days 21-30 train and practice -> Day 30 midpoint gate -> Days 31-46 guided execution -> Days 47-54 stress-test -> Days 55-60 verify and hold.
The 60-day path is differently sequenced, not a doubled 30-day plan.

CORRECTIVE-ACTION STATUS STANDARD
For material manager-development actions requiring follow-through, use:
Open -> Assigned -> Correction in Progress -> Corrected -> Verified Closed
Do not mark an item closed merely because it was discussed or someone reported that it was handled.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND RECORD CONTROL
- Blank forms and the blank workbook are reusable operating tools. Completed copies may become confidential manager-development or employment-related records.
- Store completed records only where access, retention, backup, and disposition are authorized.
- Use controlled IDs and minimum necessary information.
- Keep medical, accommodation, leave, complaint, investigation, wage, protected-trait, and other restricted details in the authorized system rather than general development notes.
- Do not delete records subject to an investigation, legal hold, required retention period, contractual requirement, or approved preservation instruction.
- Obtain qualified review before using development records for discipline, termination, compensation, classification, accommodation, leave, or another protected employment decision.
